The 2018 Volvo XC90 comes with three standard engine features: the T5, T6, and T8 Twin Engine Plug-In Hybrid. The T5 comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The T6 comes with a 2.0-liter supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The T8 Twin Engine Plug-In Hybrid has the same base engine as the T6 and adds an 87-horsepower electric motor. The total output of the T8 is 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque, and recharging the electric motor takes about two and a half hours.
